Primeline

Primeline Music is a new venture from those productive folks up at the Venny, Wood End. Primeline is a record label run by young people, for young people. We were asked to produce a logo for the record label, a vinyl label for the first vinyl release from producer "AMEC" and cd artwork for the compalation "Trial & Error".

Primeline Music is a non for profit organisation that not only offers a creative outlet for disadvantaged young people, Primeline also has education, training and development side to it, supporting young people develop music and business skills that enable them to maximize their potential.

Bring Colour are fully behind this project and we think it is ace! Trial and Error has been played at least once a day, since we got hold of our copy. A couple of tracks get reloaded as soon as they finish!

Back when........

Writers in Coventry didnt have legal spots like the blue boards in Earlsdon. ASP, JECT, MARSA, TEK, CEPT, KRUGA, XORB, REL, ALERT, to name a few that have left there mark. Growing up in Coventry, seeing the remains of these and all of the other writers had such an influence on the whole Bring Colour camp.

The picture above is of a painting by ASP 178, a writer who clearly did his fair share and was king'in Coventry in the late 80's and is still up a fair bit now.
It seems that the younger generations of writers dont know, dont care or have been missinformed about the history of the Coventry graffiti art scene.

Knowing your History is important for numerous reasons.

  • We learn from our mistakes.
  • We share a common experience that binds the scene together.
  • We learn where the scene has come from.
  • The graffiti scene can build upon past accomplishments, and it also helps us to speculate the future.

Our passion for Graffiti/Street Art and inparticular Covenrty graffiti/street art has lead us to start to produce Blitz Coventry. Blitz is documenting the past and present bombing (graffiti writing) of Coventry. If you have any images that you would like to be included, send them to: blitz@bringcolour.com

"Know your history!!!"

GYGL

Coventry GYGL contacted us because they wanted to create a piece of art for LGBT month, the group had already written a song/poem that they want to look like a Coventry street sign on a wall with graffiti on. Good fun was had.
